Reducing Single-Use Plastics in Our Terminals

This is an initiative by Aeropuertos Argentina aimed at reducing single-use plastics in our airports.

It is a path of transformation alongside strategic partners to minimize our environmental impact and plastic footprint.

As key players committed to the sustainable development of our country, we promote sustainable tourism and foster partnerships with the airport community, driving a shared goal by 2026.

How Are We Advancing the Initiative?

In 2022, the Zero Plastic Destination initiative was launched, inviting the entire airport community to a shared goal: reducing plastic use in our terminals.

Since then, we have been working to reduce our environmental impact and plastic footprint across our airports, determining which plastics are necessary and which are not. This helps us identify sustainable solutions for consumers.

We're working with Unplastify, a specialized consulting firm, on a process to reduce the use of single-use plastics in our terminals.

  • Destino Plástico Cero today

    • For 2025, our goal is to continue and deepen the measurement and reduction work we've been doing with our various business groups and in our internal operations.

    • In 2024

    - Superamos el objetivo de reducción de plásticos descartables con un 28% (contra la línea de base de 2023) en permisionarios gastronómicos y retail en 13 aeropuertos:

    Destino Plastico Cero Initiative

In 2023, on World Environment Day, we joined the #BeatPlasticPollution campaign, promoted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), showcasing a series of awareness videos about plastic-related issues through our screen network in various airports.

How can you be a sustainable passenger?

    • Avoiding single-use plastics, which are the main source of plastic footprint in terminals.

    • Choosing to shop at establishments that offer plastic-free alternatives, such as aluminum or glass cans.

    • Bringing and refilling your reusable bottle/thermos at the AEP/EZE/COR/MDZ/JUJ/PSS/IGR drinking water refill points.
